Douglas J. Lambert, MBA, CFP®, ChFC®

Doug Lambert considers wealth management both an art and a science. Consequently, he draws upon his technical expertise, uncompromising attention to detail, and creative vision to design strategies that help his clients enjoy their wealth.

Doug received his MBA from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business (Booth), a BA in economics from Whitman College, and has nearly 30 years of experience in finance and strategic planning. During his junior year at Whitman, the University of Chicago awarded him with a fellowship to the Graduate School of Business where he studied finance and portfolio theory under the direction of prominent Nobel Prize winning economists and worked as a graduate level teaching assistant.

For five years he served as a volunteer firefighter/emergency medical technician (EMT) with Tiger Mountain Fire and Rescue, qualified for and competed in the United States Triathlon Series National Championship, and has coached the King County Special Olympics Golf Team. He is an avid wood worker having been an apprentice to a master craftsman, an O-gauge model railroad enthusiast, and a competitive ping pong player.

Doug and his wife of 23 years live in Redmond with their golden retriever. Their two sons graduated from The Bear Creek School and attend Santa Clara University and Whitworth University.

My Degrees and Designations

Master of Business Administration (MBA)

A Master of Business Administration is a graduate-level degree that covers a wide range of business fields, such as finance, marketing, accounting and management.

For the ninth time in the past ten years, the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business ranks first in The Economist’s world-wide ranking of full-time MBA programs. The school was founded in 1898 and holds the distinction of being the second oldest business school in the U.S. Currently, there are nine Nobel laureates among Booth’s faculty, more than any other business school.

Certified Financial Planner (CFP®)

The CFP® certification is one of the top generalist marks financial planners can earn. The CFP® marks identify those individuals who have completed the CFP Board’s rigorous program covering a broad array of financial planning subject areas and trains certificants in the discipline of financial planning.

Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®)

The ChFC® designation has been a mark of excellence for almost thirty years and currently requires nine college-level courses, the most of any financial planning credential. Average study time to earn the ChFC® exceeds 450 hours. Required courses cover extensive education and application training in financial planning, income taxation, investments, and estate and retirement planning. Additional electives are chosen from such topics as macroeconomics, financial decisions for retirement, and executive compensation. ChFC® designees must meet experience requirements and adhere to continuing education and ethical standards. The credential is awarded by The American College, a non-profit educator founded in 1927 and the highest level of academic accreditation.
